Freelancing

How did your environment shape you?
I am blessed with parents who love and believe in me.  My family's support has encouraged me to paint the colours of my dreams. In terms of larger environment, it dictates our culture and lifestyle.  In the West, our environment is shaped by corporate interests.  I often respond in protest to this dangerous path.

Concordia University, BA Specialization in Journalism and Communications.

What makes you tick?
A good night's sleep and a to-do list.

What makes you happy?
Staring at the stars, dance, tofu, and a cool breeze on a hot day.

Tell me something about you that know one  knows?
I've always dreamt of running away to join the circus.

Women's rights.  To think it's 2007 and women still have to convince people that we deserve the same rights and respect as men.

Make universal education a reality.

What does it mean to be Canadian?
It means living up to the stereotype of being nice.

What’s your favourite colour?
Blue.  I hated pink growing up, so my sister got the pink outfits, and I wore the blue ones.

Where is your favourite place to go?
Africa.  There's so much to take in.

Read Jenn's blogs from Sierra Leone

What is your definition of 'Canadian Culture'?
Canadian Culture is Degrassi and Star Trek.  I know Star Trek isn't Canadian, but I take great pride in knowing that people from all over the world move to our country.  I know we have our problems, but for the most part, different races live and work together and get along.  Just like in the future on Star Trek.
