Synopsis:

Exploring the impact of harmful child labour in Haiti, “The Hypocrisy of Haiti” is shown through the eyes of a Canadian UN peacekeeper, pop singer George Nozuka, Haitian youth filmmakers, and former working children. Learn about the history of Haiti and the impacts of harmful child labour around the world. See the changes underway to help improve the lives of children.

 

Learning Impacts:

  • Students have an increased understanding of global issues impacting young people (i.e. poverty,  harmful child labour, and child rights);
  • Students have increased understanding of the history of Haiti and present issues impacting the country;
  • Students have an increased appreciation for other cultures;
  • Students gain an insight on how to take initiative in creating change in their own communities.
