Tamara Dawit, Executive Director
Tamara works to merge popular art forms to create pieces to engage young people in common social issues affecting youth. Tamara has extensive experience working within the art and entertainment industries as well as managing youth and public engagement programs for Canadian International Development Organizations. Tamara is a founding director of the 411 Initiative For Change youth lead arts organization. Tamara holds expertise in the development of innovative educational programming focusing on issues of key relevance to young people including HIV/AIDS and sexual health education, anti-racism, human rights education, child poverty, war and conflict studies, refugee integration and others. In addition she also has experience in the development and delivery of national youth-focused media and advertising campaigns, working with major media outlets to create youth-focused film, radio and photography projects. Tamara has managed youth arts programs in Canada, the Caribbean and Africa. Tamara has contributed to steering committees for NYAN (national Youth Anti-Racism Network) and the UN Association in Canada and the 2006 International Aids Conference.
